The best part of an evening at home for young children is often curling up in the lap of mom or dad and reading a favorite picture book together.  Person to Person encourages families to spend invaluable time reading together as part of its Hungry Lil’ Reader’s Club.  Children are hungry for knowledge and learning tools.  All they need is a fun, safe place to learn and explore. Developing an early interest in reading and writing is essential to breaking the cycle of poverty and moving toward independence for the long term.

Through the Hungry Lil’ Reader's Club, children will have the opportunity to delight in imaginary worlds and exercise their active imaginations at story time, participate in literacy activities and win prizes.  Person to Person provides a structured setting for families to gather, read and engage in fun, educational activities.  At these club meetings, held the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month, we will serve pizza generously donated by Broadway Pizza and Papa Johns Pizza. A free book will be provided by Northeast Target and Meeting Professionals International as well as other fun prizes to add to the merriment donated by UPB Ideas and Gund.  Financial support also provided by Northeast Target.

If you are interested in participating in this program by reading to the children or providing an in kind donation of books or prizes, please contact our office to find out more.  If you and your child would like to attend, please call our office at 612-706-0854 to sign up.
